Feb, 18,2015...In a house far, far away...

We all came in to class today and we discussed what final points needed to be discussed. It was also the day that we chose the main character for our game. Two other people including me presented sketches to the group and they voted on which one was the best. It was a good day because they voted for my sketch and I was very happy. I had already decided on the name and her name would be Sam'era. We had discussed a bit of her backstory. She would be an antihero in the beginning but as the game went on, she would be turned into a hero when she goes against the hierarchy. Sam'era

February 11th, 2015...We continue

Our group progress went well today. we talked about the business model canvas a little bit more in detail and what needed to be done for each part of the BMC. We had split up into small different groups and we each had a different section of the BMC to fill out. The group that I was in was in charge of figuring out revenue streams and what we could for them. We came up with ideas/examples of some streams. We had ideas of pay-to-win, energy based games, micro transactions and freemiums. We also had come up with some examples of energy or stamina based games.

February 4,2015, Week 3

As we progress more and more into the game, we still have many points that we haven't touched yet. The list of things that we still needed to talk about were:
  • The genre/s
  • What characters were needed...
  • the business model canvas and everything in it
  • who needed to do what
  • companies that have created similar games to as the one were thinking of

  • etc...
We still had a lot to do, but we had a people in our group who would take charge and figure out what information we needed and what we could do with that information. I was not in charge of anything on trello but Dan told me to start thinking of some concept sketches for the lead female character for our game. We had no specific art style but it just had to be a female warrior character.

Another post...

Once the class was over I kept thinking of what the logo should be. Most of the people in our group wanted a skull and a dark wave to be incorporated. I kept thinking and thinking and it came to me. The image that I had in my head was to draw a skull on a surfboard riding a black wave. I picked up the pencil and started to draw the outline. It started to become more and more clearer and the more I drew it, the more I started to like it. After a while, I got tired of it and I realized that it wasn't as good as I thought so I scraped it and I started over. The newer logo,I created in about 15 min and I already liked it better than the first.
